چکیده
Ceramic composites based on alumina and zirconia have found a wide field of application in the present century orthopedic joint replacements, their use dentistry is spreading. The development this class bioceramic was started 1980s, but first clinical applications total hip replacement were introduced market only early 2000s. Since then, several composite systems replacements. These materials are classified as Zirconia-Toughened Alumina if main component or Alumina-Toughened Zirconia when component. In addition, some them may contain third phase strontium exa-aluminate. flexibility device design due to excellent mechanical behavior bioceramics results number innovative devices for replacements hip, knee, shoulder, well dental implants. This paper gives an overview different available made out oxide today under development.

Estrogenicity of Resin-based Composites and Sealants in Dentistry The recent article "Estrogenicity of Resinbased Composites and Sealants Used in Dentistry," appearing in the March 1996 Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP 104:298-305) raises some familiar concerns that critics of the profession have espoused. Historically, many of the materials that have been common in the dental armamentari...
متن کاملEstrogenicity of resin-based composites and sealants used in dentistry.
We tested some resin-based composites used in dentistry for their estrogenic activity. A sealant based on bisphenol-A diglycidylether methacrylate (bis-GMA) increased cell yields, progesterone receptor expression, and pS2 secretion in human estrogen-target, serum-sensitive MCF7 breast cancer cells. Estrogenicity was due to bisphenol-A and bisphenol-A dimethacrylate, monomers found in the base p...
